Shameless Pets began out of pure curiosity and concern for food waste. James, the co-founder, was working as a corporate food buyer at Target. He witnessed first hand the vast amount of food that would go unused in stores every week. In the US alone, over 63 million tons of food gets tossed out every year! This is why he decided to rescue unused ingredients and turn them into healthy dog treats. Then, he met Alex, the other co-founder and food scientist, who whipped up four tasty treat flavors that were all-natural, grain-free, and boosted with superfoods to provide health benefits while utilizing upcycled ingredients. The more that is upcycled, the less impact it has on the environment. There is no shame in that!
